I am running Multipoint Server 2012 Premium on a teacher's station and I'm running Windows 8 Enterprise x64 on the student stations. I installed Multipoint Connector on each station then added the stations to the "managed personal computers" list via Multipoint Manager. I do have my user account added to the WMS Operators group on the teacher's station. The teacher's station is also set to run in console mode. When trying to view any desktop it only shows a generic picture of a person with a set of keys next to it. I've added the product key and a server CAL. Each computer in the classroom is on our domain. I've set up 4 computer labs using Multipoint 2012 Premium but I've never used connector before. All of our labs work without a problem but I just can't seem to get connector to work properly. Here's a picture of what I see when I click on a station in dashboard.

Multipoint Server 2010 Boots to black screen in normal mode
We are experiencing some issues with a number of our Multipoint Server 2010 machines. We also have many Multipoint 2011 machines, but are NOT experiencing this problem with them. We are not having any problems booting into maintenance mode, but normal mode just boots to a black screen. If you move the mouse cursor, it will flash white for a spit second then go back to the black screen. This happens when plugged directly into the machine or when using a hub. I have uninstalled/reinstalled both video drivers and NIC drivers, but the problem persists. One thing interesting, when I reinstalled the NIC drivers, I had to run the command to add back the 4 loopback adapters. When executing the command, it returned a message of "Error:", with no other information. However, the loopback adapters appeared to have been added back correctly. There were no Windows updates installed. The only errors that I've found in the event viewer are TerminalServices-Licensing warnings, which state "One or more RD licensing certificates has expired, please re-register." (Though this error has been occurring for quite some time, not just the past couple of days). I have also verified that the WMS licenses are applied.
The problem is that it's happening with many, but not all of our WMS 2010 servers. It's strange that it all happened at once and affected these machines. We shut down our computers nightly, so between the time they were shut down on Wed. night and booted
back up on Thurs. morning, something changed to break these machines. The only thing that would have updated would have been virus definition updates, but I can't find any indication that this is the issue (plus all of the machines would have received the
update, not just the WMS 2010. And this wouldn't explain why some, but not all 2010 machines are affected).
Yesterday, late afternoon we reimaged a WMS 2010 server with the same image and this morning it's still working properly. Does anyone have any suggestions of things too look at to see what may be breaking these machines?

Multipoint Sever 2011 - default language settings?
I inherited a gifted Multipoint 2011 server with six direct connect stations. It appears the default language from install is French (we are a bi-lingual school) however we want it to default to US English for ease of use due to keyboard issues. I can't uninstall French language because it says "Language is the system language (default language of the user interface)." To workaround this I attempted to set the Welcome screen and new user accounts settings as such:
I then created new users for the clients to use. When they first login they are set to FR in language bar even though I removed the French keyboard as option:
Further if I change the language bar settings for a user it sometimes resets on its own (I haven't figure out trigger) and definitely changes on logoff / logon. I don't have media or keys for this install so I can't rebuild server. Any suggestions?

Only one station out of six freezes?
We are running Windows Multipoint Server 2011 with HP MultiSeat Thin Clients, 6 stations per PC. We have one station that consistently freezes while the other 5 on the same computer continue to work. The station that freezes will not respond
to any keyboard or mouse commands, and logging off the user in Multipoint Server does nothing. If you restart the server, the frozen image stays on the display of this machine long after the other stations have gone to black, but eventually when the
pc starts to reboot, it clears. We are running Windows 7 64-Bit. Thank you for your help!

MPS 2012 Stuck in Console Mode
I have been using MPS2011 for some time and have sometimes had the issue where it just logs into the SRCshell account spanned over all the monitors. To fix this I used to go into the user settings and set it back to requiring Ctrl-Alt-Del at logon then switch it to normal mode in MPS manager.
Unfortunately MPS2012 seems to be way more unreliable and this fix no longer works so every two weeks I seem to have to reinstall the piece of junk again. I have looked through the event logs which reveal nothing about MPS and have tried the log collector which is really good at generating a whole stack of content but no good at pointing out what might be a problem. Is there anyone at Microsoft that knows how this stuff works and could point me in the right direction as the next reinstall is back to 2011 and will signal my giving up on the platform.
The machine in question has six locally connected monitors and works great for about two weeks before if drops out to WMSShell never to return to Normal mode.

Multipoint Server 20112 evaluation version license issue
I download the Multipoint Server 2012 evaluation version.
BTW, when I try to create sub-working-station, the software asked me to input the license keys.
But... I am using the trail version and I have not user-CAL's keys to do that.
What should I do?

I have to do an installation of Windows Multipoint Server 2011 Premium. By default it comes with 20 users access for Remote Desktop. My query is should I have CAL'S for first 20 users or is it free with base server licensing. And what if I have to add more than 20 users for Remote Dekstop.

USB Hubs and WMS 2011
Hi All,
I wonder if someone can advise me please/
I am trying to configure a promethean IWB in windows multipoint 2011.
Now the system lets me install IWB drivers and also sees the Promethean board and the Board is interactiv
however when i either switch from maintenance mode to user mode the IWB stops working and audio disappears.
this also happens during a Pc reboot and the IWB stops working.
Do USB Hubs Sleep, could this be the cause?

can't enable disk protection
I have a new install of Windows Multipoint Server 2012. I would like to enable the disk protection feature, but when I do, I get the following message:
Multipoint Manager
The system cannot find the file specified. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070002)
I have looked for a way to uninstall and reinstall Disk Protection, but the option that appeared in previous versions of the OS seems to have been removed.

When i am installing Multipoint server it gives following error error code 0xc0000001
I have download the Multipoint server 2011 evaluation for this site. When I installing the server it gives following error. After that I download the WMS 2013 Evaluation even it is also gives the same error. What is the problem this is coming? How can I resolve it?

Multiple Multipoint Server 2012 connection question
Dear all,
I have a large lab, total 10 Multipoint Server 2012 Premium join in domain and serve 50 stations (via LAN by RDS). All domain user can randomly use one of station connect to Multipoint Server.
All LAN connection already established, and domain user can use any station connect to Multipoint Server.
Now I have a problem that I must arrange every 5 station connect to 1 Multipoint Server (Srv1, Srv2, Srv3, Srv4, Srv5).
Is there any solution that our domain user only need to connect to 'Srv' via RDS at any station, and this connection will be load balance to one of 'free' Multipoint Server?

MultiPoint Over Switch
Hello People,
I know this is probably a stupid question, but I am looking at implementing a Windows MultiPoint Server for a client. I am looking at using Dell Wyse E02 Zero Clients which I believe use an USB-over-LAN interface.
My Question is:
If the client wants 10 Clients (or additional clients later) running off the server, can they be connected over a switch, or do they need to be connected directly to a server LAN port?

Multipoint 2012 - USB 3, hubs not recognised as able to be mapped as stations even though drivers are fine.
Hi, has anyone, anywhere managed to get Multipoint 2012 running on a newer motherboard with USB3 drivers. The Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller. Will happily install drivers but when you connect a USB hub to that the USB keyboard and mouse are never recognised. Have tried all sorts of drivers but none work, you just get prompted to map the stations but it refuses to map any of the keyboards at all.
Did find a post on here that seemed to allow you to bypass MPS's obviously broken USB hub detection and just stick devices anywhere (like in MPS 2010) but did not save its location and now can't find it.
Is there any way to hack or manually fix the MPS filter driver so that it can figure out that it is allowed to map the connected USB hubs. Really want to move to 2012 and have been trying since it was released but there has always been a show stopping bug in the way. If I can get this going I think we can finally start using it and move from 2011.

About to upgrade my school's computers from Windows 8 to 8.1 however I don't see any update for Multipoint 2012 to provide the 8.1 experience which I believe will conflict with my users profiles. Is there an update / service pack / 2012 R2 deployment I
do not know about or in the pipeline?

MPS Stuck in Station Mode/Cannot create virtual stations.
I am in the process of deploying a Multipoint Server and having some trouble with rolling out virtual stations. I am currently using a Windows 7 Eval copy to create my virtual template (Wanted to make sure it would work with our software before making a purchase). Everything seems to be setup correctly however I am running into two issues. First, when I created my virtual template, everything I read told me there would be a CompleteConfig icon on my desktop, however I do not have it. Second, and this may be related to the first issue, is in the Multipoint Manager, I do not have the option to create a virtual desktop station, just customize one.
Also just noticed that I cannot seem to get out of console mode and into station mode, when I try to enter station mode all it does it restart the server. Any thoughts?

How to disable windows protection on multipoint server?
Hi!
I'm trying to install some software on windows multipoint server 2011 (single workstation with six stations). The application woudn't start at all. The system gives a standard windows mesage error with two optinos: stop app or try to find a solution online.
On windows 7 with antivirus software, when trying to copy files from DVD to hard drive, file like install.exe is been deleted with mesage that it is "susspicious". But when I disable it, software is instaled perfectly.
So, I'm not sure if the software has some certificate problem...or whatever.. It is not a virus.
I just want to install it.
How I'm going to disable windows server protection? Or, what should I do?

Sessions suspend instead of disconnected
Hello,
I have installed a server multipoint 2012 and I have noticed that when I want to shutdown my session, hit the disconnected button is not enough.
I have to go on the Multipoint Manager to disconnect my session. After this,it's possible for other people to log in.
Is it normal that it works like that ?
