WMS 2012: Black screen to every client

I use Windows Multipoint Server 2012. I have 6 clients per server. Every server has 3 graphic cards with 2 exodus each one (one VGA and one DVI). I also have 6 simple USB hubs, plugged into server (every usb hub has one mouse and one keyboard).

The problem is that many many times when server stats, cannot connect with clients and all i get is a black screen (keyboard and mouse don't work) to the monitor of every client. I have to restart again and again to finally see login screen at clients monitor.

This happens almost every day...

Graphic card's drivers are installed. Windows multipoint server 2012 is updated.

Does anyone know why this happens?

Getting to know the IP address of each connected zero client workstation in Windows Multipoint Server 2012

Hi.

I have 4 connected zero client workstations. It is connected via LAN. Each device would give a unique IP address if I use a third-party application to check for IP address (e.g. advanced IP scanner). It seems that when I use CMD ipconfig/all, there is only one IP address and that is for the host. Is there other way or a CMD command wherein I could check for ALL the IP addresses within my network?

Multipoint as a home server?

I am purchasing a new computer and looking to use multipoint to be able to run the host system with 2-3 zero point hubs.  Is multipoint the best solution or is their other alternative programs to multi-seat?

The operating system I will be using is 8.1 pro.

Any additional information in helping setup this type of home network would be helpful, including if there would be possible additional spending requirements.

Licensing Multiple WMS Servers

Can you confirm that if we apply the 20 user cal’s our users can connect to any one of the three multipoint servers that are grouped together or do we need cal’s on each server individually … if so we’ll need to split the 20 into 2x 10 (third server is for redundancy).

Audio Editor

Hi everyone! I'm teaching k-8 and we have a lesson in audio editing. We are using windows multipoint server 2011. Unfortunately, audacity, jokosher and other audio editor doesn't work. I can setup the audio editors yet all do not work correctly. When I click on recor, the cursor only blink on the starting point and never record anything. Please help. Thanks.

What is the minimum "extent" for WMS 2012 Disk Protection?

I tried to enable disk protection on my WMS 2012 server and got this error message:

The size of the extent is less than the minimum

I assume that this is referring to disk space.  How much disk space is needed?

Hello. It is possible to use a fingerprint scanner in windows multipoint server 2011 for users to logon? Any help? Already installed the feature of biometric framework, but nothing... The scanner is correctly installed. thanks

We're trying to figure out how to set up a WMS system that can be used to run CAD on 5 or 6 workstations.  I'm assuming that they will have to be in their own instances of Windows.  I'd like to know what hardware would be needed, what software would be needed and what licenses will be needed.  Is there anyone out there that can help on this?

WMP2012 and Office365

Hi,

We are trialling WMP2012 and I want to use it with Office365. We will have 5 users all with Office365 accounts. Before I begin buying the office licences are there any restrictions or issues I should be aware of? Has anyone deployed office365 on WMP2012? Any tips?

Server Shell has stopped Working

Hello everyone,

I work for a nonprofit organization from America, and I live and work on a remote island in the Philippines.  Our work includes computer literacy, feeding programs, teaching English, and environmental stewardship.  For the past three years we have been teaching elementary students computer at the local public schools.  About one year ago, the school where we work, received a gift of numerous computers, a projector, and an interactive whiteboard all from the federal gov't in the RP.  All the equipment is beautiful and would be helpful in our vision for computer literacy but windows multipoint 2011 does not work.  Before I describe the problem let me make clear that I am a novice at computers and any overly technical advice will go over my head.  I did not set up the system and I was not there when the tech guy from manila came to get things going. This is the first time I have ever used Windows Multipoint.  Up to this point our students have been using Windows 7&8 on laptops that we provide.

Here is the problem:  When I turn the main computer on, everything boots up normally but before the desktop comes on the screen I get and error message that states that windows multipoint server shell has stopped working.  I then hit OK.  After that there is nothing but a black screen.  I then hit Contorl-alt-delete at which point I open up the task manager.  Under users the only thing running is SRCShell.  I then disconnect this.  After this the computer starts normally.  I enter the username and password and Windows Multipoint 2011 comes on the screen.  Because I killed the server shell I am not able to connect to the other computers.  The main computer works but the 7 other computers that should connect to the server do not connect.  Could any one help me?  If I could get these computers running it would be helpful for the school and students as we seek to help them become more knowledgeable about the world and computers.  Our area is extremely poor and your help would be appreciated.

Having Trouble Associating Keyboard and Mouse

Using Windows Multipoint Server 2011 - I cannot get the keyboard and mouse connected via downstream USB Hub to associate with direct connected monitor.  When the screen comes to select B to associate, I get a Windows Multipoint Server 2011 logo screen saver and the logo just moves around the screen when I press anything on the keyboard. If I attach a ps2 keyboard and mouse to the station it also will not associate with the direct connected monitor.

Anyone have any ideas?

For our school we want to setup a Multipoint server for 10 user. We also want to use Microsoft Office.

Can someone help me please, I believe we also need calls? But how many office licenses do I have to buy?

Windows Multipoint Server Virtualbox VM display driver issue on IBM x3100 M4 2482

Urgent help would be sincerely appreciated: We are trying to install Windows Multipoint Server 2012 as Virtual Machine with VirtualBox on IBM x3100 M4 2582 server. While installation as VM is done without a glitch, the server simply cannot find correct display drivers (Matrox G200ER) and falls back on Microsoft default display driver.

The server installs without VM perfectly with the above display driver. We need to install this as Virtual Machine and the project is for school. IBM says the driver is correct.

VirtualBox environment for VM:

.VDI, 24 GB RAM, 100 GB Dynamic disk size, 128 MB display RAM

As said earlier, URGENT help will be appreciated.

WMS2012: Using web limiting on a site with a redirect.

We are using Multipoint Server 2012 and have run into a situation we need assistance with. We have a website that users are required to go to and sign into. This site redirects to the login page, and then back to the original link. The only solution we have found is to have the main link, and the redirected link as "Allowed" Users are getting confused and clicking on the redirected link on the web limiting landing page, which will not work without first coming from the main link.

Is there a way to edit this page so the users do not see the redirection link, but still allow them access to the main link and the ability to sign in?

basically in short, users go to portal.adp.com and it redirects to agateway.adp.com then back to portal.adp.com. we only want users to see the portal.adp.com link, and still allow the passthrough of the redirect.

Web limiting won't allow sites that should be OK

I have web limiting turned on and it seemed to work fine until today.  Now it will not allow a site that should be allowed.

I have "targetsite" listed as an allowed site.  I can go to www.targetsite.com.  A link on targetsite redirects to www.targetsite.com/ContentDelivery.aspx?ca=parameter and this page is not allowed. 

What else can I do to make this page available?
