Remote Desktop License Issue

Hi,

I am currently running Server 2016 as a Mulitpoint box.  The system has 5 workstations connected, all of which work without issue.

When I attempt to login remotely, I receive an error;

Remote Desktop License Issue

There is a problem with your Remote Desktop license, and your session will be disconnected in 60 minutes, Contact your system administrator to to fix this problem.

After 58 minutes, you get a 2 minute warning.  After 2 more minutes Remote Desktop is disconnected. 

I can log back in with Remote Desktop, get the same error, but am back exactly where I left off before being disconnected.  It's as if I disconnect the session without logging out, leaving the session still running.

Any help is appreciated.

Multipoint server 2012, shell has stopped working

Greetings,

I'm using an HP z620 workstation with 10 Atrust m320 clients. Occasionally, about once a day, I receive "shell has stopped working" and the server freezes and all the clients stop working.

The server can work for days when there are no clients connected.

I've seen this thread Link, where it's suggested to install KB2975719. I download the update from here - Link. When I try to install it it says: "Windows Update Standalone Installer. The update is not applicable to your computer". 

I've followed the install instructions, I see that I have to install some other update dependencies before KB2975719, but they also end up with the same error.

What's the problem? Microsoft says that this is the solution for this crash on Multipoint 2012, I try install it on Multipoint 2012 Premium and it's telling me that I can't install it on this OS???

Multipoint 2016 instability

Hello,

We encounter instabilities with a new latest Terra server running Windows Server 2016 with the Multipoint Server role that we are currently installing at our customer.

We are experiencing random audio problems on LAN stations (M320). Every time we start the server, the audio icon at the bottom right next to the time appears with a red cross and appears to activate randomly at last few minutes. The stations have the same behavior and when we disconnect a session without the audio active on the station, completely random (several minutes), the screen of the station concerned remains black. However, if we disconnect a station when the audio is active, the session disconnects perfectly and gives back on the start page (login / password).

The prerequisites are perfectly applied.

Shell Has stopped working

Good day all!

My name is Bernard and I am seeking some help with Multipoint Server.

We were asked to set up a small computer lab for a school with 20 Wyse E02 and a Dell Power T30 has the server with Multipoint Server 2012 Premium.

The issue is we keep getting the error "Shell has stopped working" randomly and it freezes the server causing all the terminals to loose connection. Can you guys please point me in the right direction to solving this issue.

Windows Update Service on Multipoint Server 2016

Hello,

Multipoint Server 2016 seems to crash or have random behavior when there are updates.

Do you recommend leaving the Windows Update service ON, or OFF permanently?

.net 4.7 on multipoint server

Hi all.  Has anyone installed .net 4.7 on Multipoint Server 2011?  If so, did you have any issues?  I see 4.7 is supported by Windows 7, so it should install on Server 2011, right?

We are facing continuously unexpected shutdown issue on Primary Domain Controller.<o:p></o:p>

Requesting you too help me on this issue. This is very very critical server. Please Suggest.<o:p></o:p>

WMS 2016 station id changes after power loss

Hi,

i have 3 windows server 2016 datacenter servers with multipoint role installed, i use Dell Wyse E02 zero clients connected trough the lan each of the servers running on separate VLAN. 

Now when i have a power interuption in our school or a connection problem i have to setup automatically login for every device, about 50 peaces, again. This because the servers are changing the station id's for the clients. 

Is there a solution for this? Is this a bugg and will it be patched?

Hope someone has a solution because it is a lot of work everytime this happens.

We had been using Windows MultiPoint Server 2010 (OEM HP) for educational purpose to teach Refugees and the hard disk crashed due to certain unknown reason. However the host computer and Clients are perfectly fine except the disk. Now I have changed the disk but where can I get the ISO image of WMS 2010. Can you help me with this?

Hello everyone) After watchign Linus videos about installing several work places at one PC I want to do by myself)

 

I actually need for 2 Autocad (+3d Autocad workers) and for me for video edditig videos from the trips and from the Chromakey in Davinci Resolve (free version).

I tried to visualize it. If somebody uderstand what I want to archive I'll be happy to receive any recommendations)

The software may be UnRaid, Microsoft Multipoint Server 2016.

ps: I really want and hope on the BlackFriday it'll be discounts)

 

The plan is: install the unRaid software and after that install Windows 10 PRO on each of the machines and use them just by turning on the monitors at work places)

Can't take control on client machine

we have one domain controller and multipoint server. Multipoint server connected to domain controller.

In multipoint server iam not able to take control of station it showing white screen with Title as helping station name and exit.

I've seen some early articles that made it look like Windows Server 2019 will support the Multipoint services role, but the installation I tried to setup (for testing) had no trace of it but for the connector. I'm trying to figure out the longevity of the platform before deploying it.

Anyone have an idea what is going on?

Users not showing up in Multipoint Dashboard

What am I trying to do?

At a school we are running multiple Windows 10 installations. We want to use the Multipoint Connector available in Windows 10 so that teachers can monitor the students screens during class. 

The test setup:

I've got two Windows 10 machines. Same domain (DomainA). On my computer (Computer A) I installed the connector with Dashboard and on the other PC just the connector (Computer B). 

I have added Computer B to the MultiPoint manager on my system, authenticated with my Admin account (Domain A), worked flawless. When I than open the Multipoint Dashboard, I can see the desktop of Computer B. Great!

The problem however: Teachers and student accounts live in Domain B. As soon as a member from Domain B logs Computer B, they do not appear on the dashboard. I have observed that "WmsSessionAgent" will not start when a member of Domain B logs on. As soon as I use a Domain A account (Admin or normal user, this does not make a difference) the Desktop shows up again (and the "WmsSessionAgent" starts). 

Obviously I have tried opening the WmsSessionAgent with a Domain B account, but this won't work. 

Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

Hi everybody,

We have Microsoft Windows Server2016 with WMS Role.

The first issue is that when server starting there is  a blank screen on all of the screen of the series stations of the server

If we cancel the auto user login it's start to log on screen without the blank screen, the issue showing up just when there is auto login. 


The second issu is that WMS Manager doesn't load, its say that "MultiPoint Service dosn't responting in this computer"

We try alot of ways to solve it without seccess, delete certificate, the user have server administrator Rights, also in the end remove the multipoint role and install again also without seccess.

I'll glad if someone can assist here and make us sens and solution.
