implementation of thin client, for using software as service

I want to implement thin client architecture in my college computer lab, also post implementation 

i want to use some IDE like eclipse, VB etc as a Software as a Service(SaaS).

Please help me regarding this .. as in which OS should I choose for the server and how do i connect the thin clients to the server on LAN. 

I would preferably like to use a windows environment.

My target is to connect min 5 thin client desktops to one single server desktop, and all the application deployed on the server PC being can be accessed from the thin client desktop using virtualization.
