3 clients, all Win7 Pro 64-bit. All could access the server until this weekend. Server has been rebooted.
The error code I get is 812. I've researched that, and the best solution I've found is "Possible Solution:Configure a more secured authentication protocol like MS-CHAPv2 or EAP based authentication on the server – which matches the settings on the client side.". With exactly *NO* directions on how to do that.
We are a small office of 4 people, and this WAS working fine, until it stopped working. Now nobody can connect to the server any more.
On a client, in the VPN connection properties, Security tab, I have this:
Type of VPN: Automatic; under "Advanced", the L2TP tab has "Use certificate for authentication" and the "Verify the name and usage attributes...." check box is checked. On the IKEv2 tab, the "Mobility" check
box is checked.
Back under "Data Encription", it has "Require encription (disconnect if server declines
The "Allow These Protocols" radio button is pushed, and the checkboxes for CHAP and CHAP2 are checked.
So next, how do I figure out why I cannot connect?
I found the log on the server, and it says "The account does not have permission to dial in." I'm not "dialing" anything - I'm trying to set up a VPN tunnel. How do I change this on the server? It also has another error message tyhat says "<user> connected on port VPN3-4 does not have Remote Access Privilege. The line has been disconnected."
So what do I do now????? It *WAS* working, but now all clients have stopped working.
