I have a MultiPoint 2012 with VDI with an Essentials domain.
What is the best practise for setting up Windows Thin PC as a client in a domain-based MultiPoint environment?
I realize that Thin PC can be managed by the domain so that things like updates can be controlled by WSUS. Fine. I do want the VM to work with the domain too, and MultiPoint did this automatically with the VDI template and Virtual Station creation wizard.
Are Thin PC clients meant to work with the Managed PC option in the Home tab of MPM though? I can't get it to work, and I assume it doesn't work because it looks like MP Connector requires .Net 3.5 assemblies for MPS to connect to it, and Thin PC doesn't include .Net 3.5, nor is it available for installation. I guess that's okay.
However, is there any way to set up a Thin PC to take the domain credentials used to log in on the local system to redirect to a VM and pass those credentials off to the VM automatically? Zero clients and local stations seem to let you do this without issue.
